The Museum of Architecture presents to its visitors another important architect of one of the turning points in contemporary Turkish architecture with the : Founder and Architect exhibition prepared by Prof. Dr. Afife Batur. The exhibition prepared by Afife Batur for the İTÜ Taşkışla Building has also been transferred to the Internet medium in its original form. According to Afife Batur, The two main elements of Onat’s identity, his architecture and his instruction, were his identity as a founder and an organiser. But there was also a very special person behind this formal and professional identity of Onat. And it is for these reasons that the exhibition has been designed in three sections and three dimensions. The Museum of Architecture presents to its visitors the : Founder and Architect exhibition preserving the original organisation concept and documentation of the exhibition. This exhibition is more than just the life of an architect; it opens another window on the debate surrounding the issue of the process of modernisation in Turkey. The Virtual Museum of Architecture would like to thank the İstanbul Büyükkent Branch of the Chamber of Architects for enabling the : Founder and Architect exhibition to reach the widest audience through publication on the Internet.
