A SULTAN'S TITLE DEED AND TWO WOMEN'S BUILDING DOCUMENTS |
Wall Repair Permit
The document dated 1922 is an Offical Permit issued to Sayeste Hanim for the repair of a garden wall. On the front page exists detailed information about the technical properties of the building and taxes to be paid. On the back page the concerning paragraphs of Construction Law have been printed. The juxtaposition of words just beginning to emerge in the architectural terminology at this time, such as "resm-i mucessem" ( in Ottoman: 3D drawing) and "pianta" (in Italian: plan) and neccessity of a photograph of the foreman responsible for the construction are interesting features of this document.
