The Trend of Building Apartment Blocks...
The active involvement of Ankara, the metropolitan city Temelli comes under, accelerated the production of the residential project, and an influx of people from outside the town was observed, which led to rapid building of apartment blocks in and around the town. The pressure of this transformation also began to have an effect on the remaining area within the boundaries of the 1929 model village. Today there are examples of apartment blocks constructed on sites where a few old model village houses have been demolished, and also apartment buildings that have been added on to the yard of the house in the same way that adobe structures used to be built as extensions in the courtyard. Although at present the apartment buildings are few in number, certain factors are likely to speed up the process such as the legal situation resulting from the existence of multiple heirs to the model village houses, social change accompanying the general trend for apartment dwelling in towns, and the effect of changing lifestyles on the local people.
