Tokat, Zile
Zile theatre is to the northeast of the tumulus in the centre of the site. It is 743 meters above sea level and has survived until today with its benches carved into the local rocks. The approach is like that of Millias theatre in Kocaaliler in the north of the province of Antalya and Balboura theatre in the high Lycian mountain pasture in choosing to conform to the natural lie of the land by fitting the rows of benches in triangular wedges into the spaces between the rocks. A small central walkway facilitates entry and exit of the audience. Its first echelon has six rows of benches. Ten rows of benches can be counted in the second echelon of the theatre, which has survived to date with a total of 16 rows. As yet, no formal excavations have been conducted.
In accordance with measurements taken on the surface, the theatre is estimated to have a seating capacity of approximately 2,400 people.
