Sillyon Theatre
|
Antalya, Serik, Yanköy
The ancient city of Sillyon was founded on a flat-topped hill rising from the plain to the northeast of Perge. The south slope of this rocky hill has been cleaved off slice-by-slice and fallen into the plain below. Part of the theatre located in this section has also fallen over the edge of the precipice. Sillyon theatre is 181 metres above sea level and faces southeast. As much of the theatre has gone over the cliff it is not possible to calculate its capacity. However, it is possible to say that it is a small single tier theatre with a maximum capacity of 2,000 people.
