Selge Theatre is located in the north east of the city 950 m above sea level and faces southeast. The central circular walkway of the two-tier theatre is eight feet wide. Seats with backboards are arranged along the boundary of this central walkway. These seats were positioned here as it was thought that the eight-foot support wall of the second echelon would prevent the sound travelling upwards in a straight line. There are five niches carved into the wall above the central circular walkway of the theatre. These slots could be those mentioned by Vitrius into which bronze cubes open on one face were placed. If this assumption is correct, then Selge Theatre is the only theatre in the world whose niches for jars have survived until today. Although the bulk of the theatre nestles into the slope, the support wall encircles the cavea both from the right and the left tip. The first echelon of the theatre has a total number of 30 rows of benches and 12 radial walkways. Its second echelon above the central walkway has 17 rows of benches and 23 radial walkways. The radius of the orchestra is 44 feet and 12 inches. Based on this, it could be claimed that the stage edifice was around 59 feet.
The theatre has a capacity of approximately 8,500 people
