Antalya, Kumluca, Şeyh village
No formal excavations have been carried out in Rhodiapolis theatre. The orchestra, which has a radius of approximately 24 feet, is filled with remains. The stage edifice is thought to have a subterranean vault judging from the pits opened by treasure hunters. Before the stage edifice collapsed, it is thought to have been 32 feet high. Rhodiapolis theatre is two-levelled, the first of which has seven radial walkways. Even though the number of rows of benches visible in the theatre is 18, the cavea has 24 rows in total when the ones that have slid down the hillside are taken into account. Although the cavea of the theatre rests on the hillside, its edges are encircled with supporting walls on the exterior. The holes carved into the benches to hold the wooden poles over which canvas was stretched to protect the audience from the sun and the rain are one foot deep and 12 inches in diameter. Rhodiapolis theatre seats approximately 2,200 people.
