İzmir, Foça
The theatre is at the foot of the slope on the left of the entrance to Foça. The koilon is carved entirely out of the slope. This shows that it is one of the earliest amphitheatres of Anatolia. The orchestra has a radius of 31 feet. The scena (stage building) must have been approximately 40 feet high. At the lower left side of the stage can be seen a few unearthed rows and details of the wall to the side of the orchestra. The amphitheatre may have consisted of a total of 21 rows, but the number of steps can only be determined after excavation.
The theatre could seat approximately 2,400 people.
