Parion Theatre

Çanakkale, Biga, Kemer village

The excavations of Parion Theatre were commenced in 2007. A wall with two types of marble benches used as wall stones has come out of the site of the stage edifice. In addition to this, there are two ornamented marble pieces of the stage edifice and the base of a statute in the area of the orchestra. The theatre faces the northern port in the North West. It is overgrown with scrub. There are two types of benches used as construction blocks in the wall. The upper pediment of one of these measures three inches while that of the other measures five. Once excavations have been conducted in the cavea, the dimensions and number of the rows of benches will be established.

Parion Theatre has a capacity of approximately 3,700 people based on measurement taken on site.
