The theatre is in the “Asklepieion” area. The lions’ claws decorating the row ends of the theatre’s intermediate staircases and perfect marble workmanship in the section for the elite are worthy of note. The seating benches are made of white marble. The rest of the benches have been renovated at a later date by using soft stones in different colours. The south facing theatre has two levels with a central walkway. The first level has 15 rows of benches in total including the row with backboards. The second level appears to have 15 seating benches. It is divided by six radial staircases. The gradient of the slope of the cavea is thirty degrees.
The last row of the first level, in other words, the front of the central walkway, has marble benches with backboards. These benches with backboards provide continuity in the upward movement of sound. The orchestra is 28 feet and 6 inches in width. The height of the stage edifice must have been 38 feet. The section for the elite, which is situated in the centre starting from the second bench from the bottom, seats 12 people.
The Lower-Pergamon theatre has a seating capacity of approximately 3,400 people.
