Kastabala Theatre

Osmaniye, Kesmeburun village

Although there only appear to be 14 rows of benches in the first level of the two level theatre of Kastabala, there must have been 17. There are eight rows of benches in the second level. The row of benches with backboards along the central walkway enhance the sound echo and compensate for the hollow of the walkway. The width of the circular central walkway is six feet and seven inches. The theatre is entered through four arched passages, two of which open onto the orchestra, with the other two opening onto the central walkway. The stage building and some of the support walls of the cavea have collapsed. The workmanship of the benches resembles that of the neighbouring theatre of Anavarza.

It has a capacity of approximately 4,200.
