Bargilia Theatre

Tuzla village on the way to Bodrum-Milas in Muğla

Very few of the sample stones of the benches in Bargilia theatre are visible on the surface. It can be understood from the borders of the cavea that the theatre has a maximum of twenty five rows. The trails of the radial walkway are not discernible. However, even though the top of the stage edifice is only partially covered, the section up to the first floor is still intact. Due to the excavations carried out by treasure hunters, it can be seen that the doors of four of the vaulted rooms under the stage edifice open out onto the orchestra. No formal excavations have been conducted here. The gradient of the slope of the cavea is thirty degrees.

Measurements taken on site indicate that Bargilya theatre has a capacity of 3,000 people.
