Antiochia Pisidia Theatre

Isparta, Yalvaç

Antiochia Pisidia theatre is a two-tier theatre which is 1,155 m above sea level. The stones of the upper benches of the second tier of this west facing theatre are lost. The height of the support wall bordering the orchestra indicates that the ancient theatre was adapted for gladiator fights in the Roman era. The first echelon has 12 rows. The places of the seats with backboards just in front of the central walkway and the honorary seats next to the orchestra are visible. There are exits to the second echelon from the central walkway via two radial walkways. The central walkway is six feet wide, and the support wall behind it is four feet wide. The theatre has an estimated capacity of 3,800 people.
